Easter Show 2015

The Easter Show is over for another year and the glass exhibition looked amazing. There were 96 entries – 18 more than last year. This event provides the perfect opportunity to showcase the quality and diversity of New Zealand glass and we received a really positive response from the public. Thank you to all the NZSAG members who participated. Here […]

Glass Blowing Scholarships are now available from The Learning Connexion, giving you the opportunity to learn the basics of glass blowing in the Grinter Glass studio in Whangarei.

You can apply for a glass blowing scholarship when you apply to study for a Certificate or Diploma of Art and Creativity at The Learning Connexion.

For more details go to http://www.tlc.ac.nz/enrolment/scholarships/ or contact Keith directly on 0272558727.

Applications for the Grinter Glass scholarships are open to both new and returning students who are signing up for study with The Learning Connexion.

Vicki Torr Prize

This year’s Vicki Torr Memorial Prize has been awarded to George Agius for her work Whanau: A Breakfast for Ancestors (pictured above).

The work represents the bringing together of six family members from George’s lineage to have breakfast made by her.

Ausglass has described the work as “a playful, heartfelt and engaging piece. There is so much to look at and enjoy about this work. A well-deserved winner.”

George, who is originally from New Zealand and studied at the Wanganui Glass School, is now a practicing artist at Adelaide’s JamFactory.
